Lorena Terán est une artiste du mouvement née à Abya Yala-Colombie, basée à Tiohtià:ke-Montréal depuis 2021, qui développe une pratique artistique à travers la danse, le théâtre, l’écriture et l’image, explorant le bricolage comme méthode. Sa formation s’étend de la philologie allemande à l’écriture créative et aux études féministes. Son travail puise dans les savoirs communautaires, féministes, queer et cuir pour interroger le pouvoir affectif des mots sur et depuis les corps, et en explorer le potentiel subversif. Elle s’intéresse à la manière dont les croyances et la mythologie imprègnent notre vie quotidienne, et à la façon dont la fabulation peut être un moyen d’éveiller l’imagination politique et des transformations incarnées.

Su formación abarca la filología alemana, la escritura creativa y los estudios feministas. Su trabajo se nutre de saberes comunitarios, feministas, queer y cuir para interrogar el poder afectivo de las palabras sobre y desde los cuerpos, y explorar su potencial subversivo. Le interesa cómo las creencias y la mitología inciden en nuestra vida cotidiana, y cómo la fabulación puede ser un medio para despertar la imaginación política e encorporeizar transformaciones.

Lorena Terán is a movement artist born in Abya Yala-Colombia, based in Tiohtià:ke-Montréal since 2021, who develops an artistic practice through dance, theatre, writing, and image, exploring bricolage as method. Her training spans German philology, creative writing, and feminist studies. Her work draws on community, feminist, queer, and cuir knowledges to interrogate the affective power of words on and from bodies, and to explore their subversive potential. She is interested in how beliefs and mythology inform our daily lives, and how storytelling can serve as a means to awaken political imagination and embodied transformations.
